Save Money on Your Electricity Bill! Plant Trees to Cool Your Home: Did you know that if you plant trees in the right place, they can shade your home and cool it down? Also, your air conditioner won’t have to work as hard, which means that it will use less electricity and save you money on your DWP bill!

If you are a resident of the City of Los Angeles, you are eligible to adopt a tree and plant it on private property! You must bring proof of residence (photo ID with an LA City address or a DWP bill) to the adoption event. Supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. Limit one tree per person, per property address. For apartment buildings, limit is five trees per complex and one tree per unit. Trees must be planted in the ground. Learn more

Monday Recycling Starts Again

What recyclables we take

  • aluminum drink cans
  • glass
  • plastic bottles and plastic food containers with a 1 or 2 in the triangle

please no food cans or paper goods

Each person who donates will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Green Team tote bag with a special little surprise in it. Weekly drawings will be held during the Monday morning assemblies.

The funds from the Green Team will go to the beautification of the school. Last year the Green Team with the help of the Girl Scouts raised over $2000, created a new entry garden and saved tons of bottles and cans to go into landfills.  Read about our new entry garden here.
